Ok humour me then, if the pipe is clear does fuel come out of it by gravity?
if yes then you still need to check the pump.
If no do you have a blocked air vent in the tank and it is causing a vacume?

Re: Jester wont start
Mechanical pumps can be a pig to get them to bleed through if the lines/pump are dry; Often because they don't crank fast enough.
Try letting fuel gravity feed through the pipe and then connect to the pump (you may even have to suck it through to get it going) to get the air out of the line. If that doesn't help try dripping a bit of petrol down the carb while cranking might get it to fire over fast enough for the pump to get going... don't lean over the carb while doing that or a back-fire could take off your eyebrows (been there, done that).
If those fail there's more methods.

Re: Jester wont start
How it came about went for a run in the jester tried to start it 3 days later would not start, so tried all the usual things spark etc then checked the fuel at the pump. carb etc. no fuel so fitted a new pump but cant get fuel from the tank through the fuel pump. might re pipe the in pipe from the tank and check the air vent dont know what else to do. got no hair so cant pull that out. thanks again for any more help.
