help please

Postby stig730@hotmail.com » Sat Jan 14, 2012 7:51 pm

Hi
I cannot find a plug for my coil on a 1.6se looked at every ford in the scrapyard with no luck it is made by Bosch but is approx 1/2 to 2/3 the size of the normal red/turqoise plug that you normally find on most cars.
Ford will only sell me a whole engine loom !
Coil part No is 4m 5g 12029 zb or ys6a 12k073 ab

Thanks

Nick M

ps will try to send a pic when i have it sussed

Bit quiet on here isn't it. Surprised no-one has come to your help yet.

Having googled a bit, the second number is a cam position sensor (as far as I can tell).

Here is a list of cars that seem to use to coil that you number

It might help in your scrap-yard hunt. All these do look a bit new for most scrappies. What about those that do accident damaged modern stuff? I have found theses guys helpful in the past http://breakers.asm-autos.co.uk/breaking-vehicles/ and they seem to have some relevant vehicles.

As per Matts list, I think just about every black top SE has one of those (unless they've gone to CoP)...

Thanks for the help
Sorry to waste your time but i just bought a coil that would fit the normal plug for £9.05 off e-bay ! reverse pshcology ! It probably cost me an extra fiver but at least i am getting nearer to starting it, knew it was too good to be true getting a brand new engine complete with coil, ignition leads and clutch.
When searching e-bay i looked at 150 coils for sale and only one was the same as mine so assuming that is how rare they are in a scrapyard.
I use to have a really good parts fella in the local Ford dealer but the new one is bone idle.

Thanks again
