Copied from chat list. I overheated Striker yesterday, not sure why yet, I suspect the water pump as it happened so quickly!

Ok,
Update. Head not off yet but it needs to! Took the rocker cover off
and had a little look and turn of the engine. All the exhaust valves
are stuck! I have a few questions:-
Head has bronze guides, are they likely to be knackered or is it
likely i will get away with new valves? I know it's unknown until I
get the head off but looking for advice. Surprised how quickly it
failed, pinto's are made form boat anchors are they not?
If need new guides how many pennies are we looking at? Inlets are
moving fine so have assumed are ok? Also assuming the cast iron lump
aka the head isn't cracked!
Can i get the valves out without removing cam?
If head N/G, are big valve heads still available? Mine is a big valve
head, not sure if stage 2 though! Have modded the throats etc though
as per vizard.Would like to keep the head if poss.
Bottom end turning ok so assume pistons/rods fine!
Anyone know of a 4AGE ready to drop in for sale?
Oh, oil sprayer bar seemed to have some stuck holes, not dribbling
greatly from the far holes but ild cold and thick so likely to get
better when warm, lots of oil splashing about and cam lobes look fine
too so i think this ok. Will soak and claen bar before rebuild anyway.
Any Pinto experts out there?
Edd.
