I was just pointing out to the OP that (as far as i know, and i don't know a lot) the raceline water rail does not have a bypass like the standard thermostat housing, so the water in the engine must heat up and the water in most of the rail before the stat opens in the raceline rail. this can only happen through conduction as the water is not flowing.
The stat is about 2/3 along the rail.
when this stat opens the cold water in the rad gets to the engine and gives a bit of a cold shock to the engine. This all comes about because there is no bypass in the water rail.
As i have stated some people drill an 8mm ish hole in the stat to allow a little flow during warm up.
If the bypass is not needed why is there one on the standard ford item? do they put it there for fun?
I have the standard thermostat housing on the back of the engine with a 90 bend that goes to a metal pipe that goes under the exhausts then a flexi pipe to the rad.
I believe that the raceline and dunnell water rails are used where the engine is so far back that its difficult to use the standard thermostat housing. This would also mean that the coil pack needs moving.
I dont need one on the Fury as the limiting factor of how far back the engine can go is the bellhousing/pedalbox area.

main point to note is in the raceline rail if the stat is closed and you dont have a little hole the water isnt flowing round the engine.
I believe that the dunnell one has a bypass.
Then again if the raceline one does have a bypass all the above is bolx.
(please note Im a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to the Fury so i am a bit picky)
