or maybe the (unspoken) threat of 'use it or lose it' has made people realise what they could lose

Yes indeed, either way I'm pleased that thing have picked up. Now if we can find a Forum software which does email digest daily we can persuade the 'luddites' on the list to join us...

Re: JPSC Forum vs Sylva Chat
I stopped looking at the Chat list soon after it was upgraded (or whatever you want to call it) and I found it impossible to follow threads, with replys appearing as new threads or seperate to the original; Maybe it works fine if you just follow it via e-mail but not on-line. I found most questions were asked here as well anyway, so don't feel I've missed anything.
I don't subscribe to e-mail notification of posts on forums as I can do without my inbox being constantly flooded but I can understand others using it. This is the only forum I'm a memer of where it's not an option.
As for a JP section on Locostbuilders, I'm amongst those that have been pushing for it but... It''s a run at the whim of the site owner (and a good job he does, usualy for little credit) and would not be under the control of the club. If it happens then it will benefit us generally but we still need an independent forrum.
