If it is too inconvenient for the committee to visit often than make sure there are other mods around who can sort out issues.
Would you be happy to be a mod Jeff?
To be honest, if we don't get more help, the JPSC in it's current form won't exist. I am not just talking about the forum
Ed
Jeff,
One of the reasons I prefer a chat list, I forget to check the forums regularly! Everyone's different which is why the world is a fascinating place!
However I do take your acceptance to be a mod seriously, and when I find out how to I'll add you unless Pete does it in the meantime.
Problem with this forum it was setup by James and we never had a clear explanation of how it works when he left the JPSC! However, there are plans to rectify many of these issues over the next few months.
Details hopefully in a Proper Job! There's pressure Matt!

The Future of The JSPC
Ok thanks for directing me to the main area of discussion…..
I am new to kit cars always wanted one but only got my Striker just over a year ago
The advice I got last year from both forums was fantastic, I appreciate both forums help greatly, and thank those that run it. I have not joined the JPSC, always intended to , but now I WILL
It seems to me that its the same situation as village pub closures, everybody kicks up a fuss when one closes especially those who never call in for a pint! I probably fall into that group, a failing I intend to remedy. For what is worth my views are as follows
The Future of The JPSC should be bright….. The cars are fantastic and we should help spread the word
The post frequency at both JPSC and the Sylva site is very low which provokes a vicious circle of
reducing visits and consequently the number of posts, so if an effort is made by all those who view but do not contribute to do so , and not leave it to the frequent posters I think it will invigorate the site. Posts by lurkers could be encouraged eg set post targets to reach 5/10/ 50 etc
As a relative “newbie” I have been aware of how little I know about the cars ( although it is a steep learning curve once you get one), and it may be that posts by newer people are reduced by the concern that they may sound stupid compared to the more experienced guys on here
At Stoneleigh and other events perhaps new members hip could be encouraged with flyers on all JP cars that attend
I think combining the two sites into one would be a great help ( but still keep them distinct as I agree that the emailing facility of the google group is good and always prompts me to visit the site) that should keep everybody happy and not alienate anybody). As an aside I was a Frequent visitor to lotuselan.net ( until I got my striker !) and fairly recently they “improved it” I preferred the old site much more, but they have kept the old one archived. Initially I thought combining the site as a sub group of Locost builders was not on …. But perhaps it may be a good idea as it has thousands of members, which are potential “converts”
I don’t know how much input there is from the current manufacturers of JP’s designs …. But I would be very happy to see more from them, perhaps a dedicated area / website links as there is less chance of a future if the marques do not continue
The layout of The JPSC seems to cover all the bases, although some of the content is a bit old
It would help if the Forum was directly linked to the website
As regards new comittee members, it is often the case that people are usually happy to be part of a club but that they may not have the inclination/skills/ time required
to help run it. Perhaps those most suitable for the job are to be found amongst those who post most frequently ?
Cheers Paul Striker 150
