I've been cosidering swapping from metalastic suspention bushes to polybushes on my Fury. It'd be nice to get the bushes in advance to reduce the down time. I'll have the front wishbones off next week so it seems a good time to make a start even if it's just the front for now.
Has anybody done the swap and do you have the sizes of bushes required?
Where did you buy them?

You may find that the tube diameters are slightly smaller for metalastic so a little paring down will be required for the standard bushes from WISBECH ENGINEERING . I've got them in stock for making trailing links that allow long shock travel and still lower the car --- I'll measure them for you later ok.

It's 29mm's diameter with 35mm's top hat diameter .

Do you mean the outer tube is different in wishbones made for metalastic bushes than those made for polybushes? I assumed they were both the same.
Having posted the question I also forgot to measure the bracket for tube length. Don't suppose you know that as well?

Well , I've not seen any metalastic match any polybush size but mine are 30mm's and the ss inner sleeve for the bolts is 39mm's then each piece of the top hat is 4mm's thick --- that just allows for 0.5mm of ss inner sleeve to be clamped. I had my ss inners and outer tube machined to avoid the usual wishbone manufacturing varied tube widths , so they clamp up nice without filing down the poly bush top hat or the outer tube on the wishbone.

Thanks Rob. Looks like I'll have to press out a bush and measure the wishbone end bore/length and bracket width before ordering. I think I'll leave it for now until later when I can have more downtime.

You could always carefully cut off the existing tube outers then weld on the same ones as I use --- then simply fit standard polys

Re: Fury poly bushes sizes?
Up-date on this.
The tubes for metalastic are 26.9mm ID. After a bit of research I found some bushes among the Super-flex listing that were close enough to use (27mm OD).

I then cut them to form 2 top-hat bushes that (with a bit missing in the middle) were a good fit...

They're 18mm ID and bought suitable stainless crush tubes from the same source that just needed trimming to length. I bought 12mm bore tubes as the ones available in 1/2" bore were too short so they also needed boring out. Just needed the top-hat thinning a bit to stop them binding and jobs good. Only slight fly in the ointment might be the hardness. They're 95shore.

Do I take it that is Shore A scale. If so, 95 is pretty hard so are you worried about them being too hard or not hard enough? Nothing personal

Re: Fury poly bushes sizes?
Scale A. Not worried about it. Given the choice I'd have bebated with myself whether to go for 80 or 90 for ages. There wasn't a choice so it saved me all that. Was just happy to find bushes that fitted.
If someone else wanted to make use of what I've found they might want to know the hardness.
The crush tubes I used where also from Super-flex. SF470-0298T These are 18mm OD, 12mmID and 42mm long. As said they needed boring out to 1/2" and trimming to length.
