H'mm , probably a good business move at a £6000 build , for a road car but too heavy for any success I'd have thought for track work -- all that hefty MGF subframe/suspension. Not sure I like the screen though

Re: The new Sylva Vectis
Not sure about the screen myself without seeing it in the flesh. J15 looked to low and flt for my liking (fromsome angles) and a screen might help. I'd have looked for something more raked from a modern car (MGF comes to mind) but I guess thatneeds more support. I assume thats an Elan 'screen?
I think it's amazing nobody has used the MGF as a single donor for a mid-engine kit before. Like rob says the weight of the rear subframe is a disadvantage but I think the point is, it makes for a much simpler build. Maybe a lightweight, spaceframe, subframe might be posible as an option.

The J15/Vectis has much lower sides than a Fury or Phoenix and I think that is what the visual issue is with the screen.

You can't argue with the donor price though

Think itneeds to be seen though. The J15 isn't at it's best from that angle; A low view point makes it look a lot better IMO. That picture is growing on me though. I wonder if there'sanyway a full screen/frame could be removable?
