what puts people off buying this car:
engine overheats...could be something easy, as a sticking thermostat or something serious like a headgasket....thermostat would be around 30-45min work and you could sell the car with confidance as a runner....if you are short in time, a local garage would sort this out for 100pound....i think the majoritiy of potential buyers is thinking like that, but wondering why it hasnt been done, therefore concerned to buy.
the color
from time to time, a roadworthy , drive-away fisher fury turns up for sale for 4-4.5k
the registration as striker? the kit is from 1996..i´m quite sure it is not been wrongly interpreted from the DVLA as striker...a striker V5c has been used for registering the newly built Stylus. SVA came 1998...so was the kit completed before? if not it looksl ike the above procedure has been used to avoid the SVA test.
the reg.-date, on 1st view, is interesting for foreign-buyers, but this advantage bursts, because its declared as striker. it needs somebody with very good "relations" to the foreign mot-authorities (like TÜV in germany or Controle technique in France) to get the car re-registered.
anyway...the price is not too bad..i would not call it bargain....but 2.5 to 3k would suit better.
