Might be very gentle if Gurston gets the better of me :( I need to preserve the car for Goodwood but just couldn't resist having another run at it --- admit to being nervy about it though

H'mmm , nervy was definitely the word . First practice I didn't remember where exactly the corners came up nor the ' kinks ' then went through what I thought was the finish only to see the chequered boards once I'd lifted off  That got me a 44 sec run :( (did 39.85 sec's in 2003 last time there) Anyway , after a little more thought on gears and where to go I did the 2nd practice at 39.02sec's BUT practice don't count
Bearing in mind I need to be at Goodwood next weekend but really wanting a good 1st timed run , as it was dry but rain was forcast ---- I shot off slightly bonkers but with controlled terror through the ' Hollow ' to make it a 38.79sec's :P
A good banker I decided , so my last run and still dry was 39.21sec's
Amongst the company of Ralt , Mallock and other specialist hillclimb cars I was 11th out of 12 cars :( but happy with the laptime after such a long time away from the hills :) PLUS I didn't hit anything  Mike Smith did very well with his Striker in another class , I think winning it :?: It's all on the Gurston website soon.

Yes , sorry for not replying Simon but the signal at Gurston was rubbish . Matt Downes tried phoning me but was cut off then we struggled to text each other . Stuart is with ' orange ' not vodaphone like me so he tried with the same result. Matt was going to be with the ' timing ' team setting up / fine tuning a new system there but had to cry off .

Anyone doing the Midland Speed Championship this year, after the great success last time? I've done 3 rounds so far, Loton, and MIRA twice and seen several Strikers and Furys but no mentions here Several had not heard of the Forum. Must have learned something as six seconds faster than last year at MIRA on May 26th, although came second in class.
Roger :P

Any Sylva's at Abingdon this weekend ?
I'm marshalling/timekeeping on Sat for the Sprints, co-driving in the Rally on Sunday :-)

Updated:-
I can see there's 5 Sylva's, - 2 Striker's, a Riot, a Leader & a double driven Stylus.
(but no Mega Phoenix  )

Roger :P

Roger, I noticed your time ;) very impressive.
It seems though, that (apart from you) the only regular respondents on this forum were driving non-JPSCs (Jim & David Spencer in a Reynard (2nd and 1st in class IIRC) and me in the Westy (1st in class, but only because the others were even worse rubbish)).
John Bradshaw and Mike Smith went well in their Strikers, and Peter Dillow (Fury) was well beaten by Roger
Se7en Pervert -- by definition; I don't drive a Caterham
