Chris and I are off to (sunny?) Snetterton on Sunday -- but no JPSC presence to try to keep Mr. Bowden in his box

Goodness. Last time I was there was as a marshal; It was a F2 race and we collected François Cervert in the wall at our feet. Luckily, I was able to duck faster in those days

Re: Hillclimb & Sprinting
Snetterton yesterday. New 100 circuit is smooth and slightly slippery. Layout challenging. One-and-three-quarter lap format gives a high speed run of 90-110s depending on class.
Paul Bowden was up against the country's best -- but still put up a very creditable 94.29s for third in class (behind the Westies of Barry Slingsby (93.33) and Peter Goulding (94.27)).
Only SPSC there was Chris in our improving 1400cc Striker. He came in with a 92.05s best.
Pleased to report that the clan took home two "first in class" pots from the first ever sprint on the new circuit.

Jeff
There is video, but Jonathan Palmer seems very reticent to allow his beautiful new circuit to be shown on the interweb. £25,000 of liquidated damages comes to mind. Nowt so queer as folk!
We'll show you on the computer next time we meet.

Re: Hillclimb & Sprinting
So, it's off to Pembrey (west of Llanelli) for two days this weekend. Gorgeous circuit -- fast and technical. Scary as hell in the rain, though.
Video of Chris in the Striker last year (in the glorious dryness) is at: http://youtu.be/HLBEZUdxSak
Jim and David Spencer will be renewing the battle against the Westfields of John Palmer and John Loudon in the <1700cc CEC class. It finished DS/JS/JP at Silverstone and JP/JS/JL/DS (covered by a second or so) at MIRA. Plenty to play for.
Chris and I will be out with the moped-powered Striker -- in a class of 10, also contaning some very fast Westies. Chris had good results at Silverstone and Snetterton in "new, improved Marmelade", but I've only ever driven it briefly on a bumpy airfield. Steep learning curve I suspect; especially for an OF. Even more so as the machine now sports paddles (at the suggestion of JeffW, having seen the Silverstone vid).
I hope moral support (and good weather) will be laid on by Taff Striker -- whom we shall try to infect with the "sprint bug".
Wish us all luck.

Re: Hillclimb & Sprinting
Met up with Dave and Chris yesterday morning at a warm and sunny Pembrey - who says it always rains in Wales
Just a few pics of Marmalade looking good in its latest incarnation.

The Spencer boys were going really well in their Toyota powered version

Didn't get any times unfortunately as I left early but was non-the-less inspired to complete my rebuild in readines for next year
