Hi guys,
I'm looking at putting a limited slip diff in my striker, it currently has a standard 7" sierra in it. There seem to be several units out there but i'm not sure which will be most suitable for a striker. Does anyone have any experience as to which would be the best?
I would like to start hill climbing and sprinting and I'm still trying to get to grip with the regulations. Would an LSD exclude me from any classes? I know its circuit racing, but i saw in the 750mc rules for the kit car championship that lsd's were not allowed. Is that correct?!
Thanks for any help!

Hi George
Can't give you any comparative experience with LSDs, but can tell you that I have a ZF unit* in my 7" Sierra and it works like a dream.
LSDs are currently banned (as are dog boxes) in the 750MC Kit-Car race series in an effort to keep costs down. Odd, because IIRC they are allowed in RGB which is a more popular formula. LSDs are pretty much standard for sprinting and hill climbing as the start is so important -- shouldn't be any class issues here.

I've been looking at the quaiffe ATB unit. I don't think i know enough about set up to benefit from a plated diff yet. How did the car's handling change when you fitted the diff, did you have to change the way you drove?
I like the marmalade website by the way! Did the anti-roll bars change the handling much?

Marmelade website is very overdue an update I'm afraid
All comments competition related I'm afraid. I didn't notice any real increase or decrease on understeer when I fitted the diff -- but the drive out of tight corners increased dramatically. It also eradicated my fear of dropping a rear wheel onto the grass when exiting tight chicanes -- the balance of the car was almost unaffected. Also, obviously, helped getaway from the startline.
Yes, I should have fitted the ARBs much earlier. Being flatter in fast corners gives more confidence that it will stick -- and you have an additional adjustment which affects under/oversteer.
