Lots of good advice on Llandow, thanks.

I hope you guys are going to turn up next time to give us a practical demonstration of how it should be done :P

You certainly do travel a long way for your ' points ' David :) I've not been there since 2007 and then only the once

Probably won't bother with Llandow again Rob -- in terms of enjoyment for long distance travelled from Suffolk, Pembrey and Croft are streets ahead!

So, farewell Hethel. One of the most challenging, and most satisfying to get half way right, circuits on the sprint calendar is to be no more

Strong word has it that the bulldozers move in over the next couple of weeks.

But, just possibly (assuming the money holds up), a new circuit will emerge. Damn (no matter how good) -- it took me five years to learn the last one

David,
Have you any plans to do Shelsley. I've checked the entry list for the "big one" this weekend and no Sylvas again. I'm interested to see how Marmalade goes, after seeing it at Nigels when you were having your gearbox issues and mine was getting caged up.
Regards
Paul.

Hi Paul

No, you won't see me at Shelsley (or at Gurston, Loton, Harewood, etc.) -- I am far too much of a wuss to do hillclimbs, there is simply too much to hit :o . Three of my Westy friends are still straightening/repairing from Loton two weeks ago

Marmelade should be at Barkston Heath at the start of September, Brands on the 12th, Curborough on 2nd October, and Debden on the 3rd.

All best

David

Yes, know what you mean, the old hills are not blessed with much in the way of (any) run off.
Saw this one a couple of months ago, thanksfully driver OK, but took more than 10 minutes before either Driver or car was visible as it was deep in the undergrowth.

I may see you at Brands David . Never been there myself so it'll be a steep learning curve for me , if I get past the reserve list that is :( Any tips for keeping the bodywork in one piece :?: Hope it doesn't rain for my initiation

I am actively planning to start sprinting and hillclimbing next year, need to justify and use the Phoenix so I don't scratch the 911 itch!!! Started by doing a Carlimits training day with Andy Walsh last week, great fun and i actually tried to learn something rather than just powersliding onto the runway at 100mph as i usually do with him. We used the "MSA" track in the afternoon. Improved massively, and although it was quite informal timing wise I went about 3 seconds quicker than anything else, although to be fair only really an Aeriel Atom and Caterham had the power to weight to compete with the R1, mostly Elise / Exige / Ferrari etc. so I dont think I was being particularly brilliant!!!! I am planning to join Sevenoaks & District Motor Club as they meet a few miles away from me, and also do the Lotus-on-track sprint series to start with. Am going to do a more intense day with Andy focused on getting the most out of sprinting, limited to about 8 people with proper 1-1 tuition.
