Hi All
Saw a chap (Peter Robinson?) on Youtube with red striker who has full length bonnet on a hinge - I'm hoping to get some close up pictures of this ...
Anyone?

Re: Bonnet Hinge on Striker, Youtube
My first Striker had a one peace bonnet and it didn't fit between the headlights with out a lot of jigging around. I then got the jigsaw out and made it a two peace bonnet (with suitable trim added) which was so much easier to work with!

Thought about it but would want to fit underlip and it might affect smooth lines, require repainting etc
this guy's hinge looks a neat solution
similar issue re headlights. they look great but might replace with dominators or something as i suspect rack has stoppers to stop arches hitting lights - turning circle worse than an oil tanker

Just put a Phoenix body on it, fixed all the issues with the aesthetics then

Re: Bonnet Hinge on Striker, Youtube
This was the finished job
I had to bond a lip to the nose cone once cut off for the main bonnet to rest on, you can just see it on the left in this picture
The nose cone was then held on with 4 Dzus fasteners and the bonnet was held on with 2 Dzus and some horrible spring clip things. Smaller headlights would have helped. It looked OK to me and was stable at full speed (which was only about 110mph) around several race circuits

Hmm, prefer the one piece. Think I will eventually weld on a frame for hinging
Phoenix body, interesting, looks doable but at circa £2k that's a job for another day!
