Not sure I'd trust a single axle trailer.....

I find it a lot easier to manouvre a single axle etc. Independant suspension is rated to a conservative 1200kgs and light truck tyres to 1600kgs for the pair.
The base I built about 8 years ago & has done the Perth/Adelaide return trip once...the composite panels for the cover have added about 150kgs.
Hope it still works OK. Quite like to take it & the Sylva to the Eastern States again sometime

I just lift the front axle off the ground when I went to move my trailer by hand.

Re: It 'ain't half hot mum
My single axle trailer was always a bit twitchy but a lot of that was down to the narrow wheels. Last year I made some mod's; Wider wheels/tyres (from 145s to 205s), also trimmed a couple of feet off and moved the axle forward to compensate. Tows a dream now. On a trip to Zolder last year it was a lot more stable than the twin axles semed to be that everyone else was using.

It was always the thought of losing a tyre which put me off. I arrived at an event last year and realised that one of the tyres on the trailer was flat...never even noticed.
