Le Mans 2012 - Details

Postby Edd » Fri Nov 18, 2011 1:27 pm

Hi,
It’s time to think about Le Mans 2012! Why bother with the Olympics? Get to France for some real sport! Seriously though, details and first draft of plans for next years trip:-
Details similar to previous years. Obviously final prices not fully know yet and a lot depands on the exchange rate and if we pay in Euros or Francs!!!
As usual I do have a spare passenger seat waiting to be filled. I will have a tent big enough for both of us i.e. a small 4 man with 2 bedrooms. Get in touch.
More information on request!
Edward Berresford
Price includes Ferry/Tickets/Parking and Camping at Spay.
Details below.

Main plan is below:-

Weds 13th June 2012.
Ferry - Newhaven to Dieppe - Sailing at 2300/Arriving 0400. Cost includes
Cabin!

Thurs 14th June 2010.
Drive to Campsite, stopping ASAP for Coffee/Croissants!
Arrive Spay Campsite, pitch/shower etc.
Last 2 sessions of qualifying at circuit.

Fri 15th June
Free day. However, beside shopping/stocking up there are other thinkgs
happening.
1. Track is open, well the public roads are, so Mad Friday will be in full
swing, or as mad as the gendarmes allow now anyway!
2. Pitlane is open.
3. Drivers Parade in Le Mans town centre. Buses/Metro available from
circuit.

Evening we normally have a big BBQ/Party at the campsite, usually
fantastically organised by the Dutch half of the party!

Er...Race!

Monday.
Recovery, slow drive back to port!

Tuesday
Return ferry - Dieppe to Newhaven - Sailing at 0530!!. Again Cabin included
in cost.

i. Ferry times - There are options. There is an 1800 Monday evening ferry
arriving 2000.There is also an 0930 outbound arriving 1430 in Dieppe. You
could also go Dover/Calais. I am happy to explore/book all options for you.
Ii. Price includes cabin, 2 cars per cabin i.e. 4 People.
Iii. Price is based on 2 people per Car.
Iv. Price includes general entrance ticket/car park in Rouge car park/4

Edd

How are you getting on with this ?
After some thought & discussion with some mates, re LM Proper vs LM Classic, think I'm going put my name down for June.
Depends on whether you are OK for non-JPSC cars to join your convoy ?

Potentially I have a three car group - Myself & Mrs in a Stylus, mate +1 in a Porsche, & mate +1 in a Murtaya kit.
All travelling from Liphook / Godalming area.

Can that fit in with your plans ??

Definitely committed to the Classic now Edd. I am in the process of chasing my brothers to see if they are interested in the 24hrs.

Hi MAtt,
Yes, all welcome despite what car! It's rare we have 100% Sylva cars to be honest but it isn't just about Sylva's is it?
It's just a brilliant weekend of automotive porn!

Pete,
Good stuff thanks. I'll do the classic one year but the full race is always my priority.
