Hi Guys
I have decided that after having had my Leader since 1994 and not using it recently to the degree it deserves it is time to let somebody else enjoy what is a fine car.
The car was built in 1988 and originally based on a Vauxhall Magnum. The engine is a Fiat Twin Cam 1772cc, it has been tuned and currently runs high lift Piper cams, 40 DCOE Webbers, big valve head, Lumenition electronic ignition, Facet electronic fuel pump, custom made 4 in to 1 exhaust manifold and a custom made stainless steel exhaust box. The engine was originally up rated by Guy Croft, I had it refreshed in the late 90's by Bill Richards, the A series engine guru and have only done about 2500 miles since then. So in reality just run in. When I last had the car on the rollers it showed 160bhp at the flywheel and 140 lbs/ft of tourque. The gearbox is the appropriate Fiat 5 speed box with a quick shift kit and has had the lever positioned in a more suitable position.
The original owner competed in the car in the midlands Hill Climb championship and decided to convert the rear axle to an Escort one that is 5 linked running a 3.9:1 diff. There are Spax adjustable platforms all round. The front anti roll bar is adjustable and all flexible brake hoses are of the BF Goodrich steel braided type. It runs on 13 inch Superlites with Falken ZE912 185/60x13 HRs.
I sprinted the car in the 90s in the South East and achieved class success at championship level for a number of years on the trot so the car has proved reliable.
The driver’s seat is a cut down Raw fibreglass item with harness cut outs. The drivers harness is a 3 point Willans aircraft release buckle and a normal 3 point Willans for the passenger on a general sports seat.
The car has full weather gear comprising of roof, frame, side screens and full tonneau.
On the whole the bodywork is in very good condition. However, the front of the car has a number of gel coat cracks. I have never bothered to repair them as I was going to wait for the day when a bit more damage was done but thankfully it never arrived!
The car is SORN so obviously not on the road and the MOT has just expired but it will have a new MOT for the new owner.
I would like to achieve £2500 for the car. If this sum is achieved then I will throw in my copy of the original Guy Croft Modifying & Tuning Fiat/Lancia Twin Cam Engines manual. As I am sure that you are aware this could fetch a fair sum on its own.
Photos available but too big to load here. I will email if I can't sort out.
Should you like any more information then please do hesitate to send me a message or call me on 07913239176.
Many thanks
Duncan.

Re: Sylva Leader For Sale
Hi Guys
Well the Leader has now gone, sad after 16 years! However, this will not be the end as I shall have another Sylva some day. So good wishes to you all and I will continue to study the JPSC Forum.
All the best,
Duncan.
