Whats it worth

I have the oportunity to purchase a rare Mazda race car with a small bit of history and although the car is not worth much here in the UK it is worth a hell of a lot in NZ and to me this would be a sound investment.
So the big question is whats my Westy worth. I woild ask on the westy forum but I dont want to fall foul of some of the mods..again :?

Some of you have seen the car up close and some have seen it dissapear into the distance.
Spec
1997 SEIW
13b Mazda rotray engine
C/R gearbox
LSD
3 event old Protech shocks and springs
Siltec widetrack fromt end and anti roll bar
3 event old MSA roll bar
Luke 5pt Harness
GRP Seat
4 compomotive wheels
4 JBW Minilite replicas(2 events old)
Spare slicks and a set of VERY sticky wets
Drilled front discs and a pair of NEW never used Wilwoods and pads up front
Spare gearbox(STD)
Wilwood master cylinders and bias pedal box

3rd in class 15th overall @ Abingdon (first event)
1st in class 5th? overall @ Debden autumn sprint
2nd in class 5th overall @ Eelmoor sprint

I would remove the engine and box if the price was right but I still dont know what its worth with or without engine
or
Forget the car with history/investment and concentrate on whipping some booty with this car
Here is a car similar to what I am looking at

Can't help you with your Westie I am afraid, but that Mazda is new to me. Is it an Aussie / NZ car special ?

It had crossed my mind to stick a rotary engine in my Striker (that's where Jeremy started with the Striker of course), but I know nothing about the different types.

Can't help with the westie, but i love the screaming sound of the RX3, but i guess you can't drive it over here because of the noise.

The cheapest Westfield I have seen was £5k. So yours sounds like a few k more than that if you leave an engine in it, and a bit less if you leave it without an engine!
Selling the car to someone "who knows it/you" seems to be a good way of getting fair value.

To my mind you might be better off the extra bits separately to the car.

Sadly, the costs and the values of these cars have a disappointing relationship. I know I haven't told you anything that you don't know.

If you are talking about the noise from the red bull Rx3 then yes its a bit loud but I beleive that one is a tripple rotor engine. My one has never failed noise and comes in at around 104dbmax dependant on ambiant temp etc. You can get anything quiet enough if you strangle it...which reminds me where is the wife

A Westy rarely goes for under £5k as has been said, but also rarely fetches more than £10k unless it is extremely beautiful or has serious track pedigree. Also, I can't remember whether you have a V5C for yours -- without it the market is much more limited.

I wouldn't bank on more than £7.5k -- but first you need to find the right buyer.

P.S. the Westie forum (if you are a club member) or Pistonheads are your best bets.

Luckily I do have a V5 but as you know all the road going stuff is long gone but on the plus side it is a Q so no emmissions and its on the V5 as a 1300cc

I will know more about the RX3 in the next week or two so we will have to make a wise but difficult choice then.
