Hi
The time has come to put my toy up for sale. I purchased this as a part-complete project Jan 17 and put it through IVA in August 17, registered September 17 on a Q plate - and proud! I believe first MOT would be due August/September 2020.
Previous owner rebuilt car in 2016 and their spec was as follows:-
1971 X-flow 711 Block
Ported GT head
1600 with +090 pistons so now c.1700
Kent 244 cam
Duplex timing gear
Double valve springs
Steel rocker posts
ARP rod bolts
Alloy Pulleys
New water pump
All new gaskets
5 Speed Type 9 gearbox
English Axle
New ball joints/bushes/wheels/tyres/calipers/mintex pads/wiring loom/digi-dash/lights/plugs/leads etc
Momo/caterham steering wheel etc
Accuspark electronic modified distributor, circa 14 deg btdc
Judging from Burton's catalogue it should be making 135-145bhp but I suspect it's a bit down on that and would probably be increased with a specialist tune-up. Still plenty fast though!
Weight is circa 525kg wet with 3/4 tank.
Suspension is track orientated adjustable gaz/spax, for regular road use would benefit from softer rear set-up.
I have recently replaced the Weber DCOE40's with brand new, fitted a new high torque starter motor, added a new re-packable silencer (c. 99/100db static), fitted new stainless steel petrol tank/level sender, new thermostat housing/stat and cap, alternator and made a fibreglass airbox and hinged bonnet etc.
Engine showing even compression and doesn't burn oil.
Included in sale is various fog/reverse lights, original exhaust (circa 103+db) and bracket, DCOE filter socks if you want more induction noise, carb synchronising tool, spare mirrors, new aluminium radiator (looks tight and will require mounting modifications to fit, or otherwise sell on), badges, Valvoline 20w50 oil, odds and sods etc.
Also included is two cans of Vauxhall Power Red 50b cellulose paint - I had intended to make good the following:-
Bonnet airbox air channel, rear bumper blemishes, chips/scratches, rear arches - I had to stick rubber arch extenders on the rear half of the rear arch lips to pass the IVA and the glue residue remains.
I have driven the car only a few hundred miles including brief track day at Snetterton (c.25 laps total) and it certainly tests your driving skills!
I've probably put £7k+ into the car but appreciate I won't see that back.
Car is located near Cambridge.
Asking price is £5,200.
I'll put it up on LCB in due course.
Thanks,
Chris

Final reduction to £4,600.
Might just keep and sell the other toy instead.
Will consider px for phoenix/fury.

Keep it! It might be one of the last Strikers to make it through IVA.

On a crossflow, yes looks like it. I expect newer Raw's on modern engines -EFI with cat etc will be ok for a few more years, but wouldn't be surprised if the system changes more fundamentally in 5-10 years' time.

That's 208 cm! What gave him the impression he would fit in a Striker? I doubt he'd fit in a Caterham SV with lowered floors!

I tell a lie, 6'6", but still rather large
Still for sale, has developed some slack in drivetrain, not sure what exactly, suspect the diff. Will reduce price to allow for fitment of LSD, something like this:-
