Fisher Fury project

Postby Skudman » Wed Mar 21, 2018 7:24 pm

Fisher Fury project car
2004 Fisher Fury (or possibly Raw Fury) kit car.
This has been off the road for a while so is a project car which is being sold for spares or repairs. It will need fully re-commissioning before it can be used. It was last on the road in 2012 and is currently SORNed - so will need an MOT and tax to get it back on the road. It cannot be driven on the road so will require a trailer to take it away.
Body is made of yellow GRP, The GRP is in generally good condition but does have some marks and the odd chip. It is not perfect by any means. It was built in 2004/5 and is correctly registered and IVA certificated.
Engine: 1.6 litre Toyota 4AGE 16 valve with 2 x twin 40 dellorto’s running mappable OMEX 100 ignition, spare 4AGE engine included, 80000 miles, was running fine in a car I scrapped but assume needs work…..
Suspension: Coil over front and rear IRS with the front being in board units, front wishbones are the more ‘sophisticated ‘ type.
Gearbox: 5 speed type 9 box
Interior: basic seats , untrimmed inside,.
Wheels: TRW 14” alloys in good condition with good (but now old) tyres.
The car is showing 2562 miles which I believe is correct and is reflected in the overall condition of the chassis and suspension most of which looks grubby but basically as new. I have owned the car since 2009. I am the second owner and I have a folder of almost all the original owner build receipts at a cost of over £13000.
The engine blew the head gasket in July 2012 returning from Newark kit car show and after some other problems it got put in the garage and I pretty much gave up on it. I am 95% certain it was a gasket only failure (having done a fair few) and it now has a quality replacement one. The engine was a low mileage Japanese import and has little wear inside. The engine was burning oil (it was glazed) so I put new rings on and honed it at some point before the gasket failure. It was running really well after this.
I now need the space and having not used it for over 5 years its time to move it on. The engine sounds, runs and might even be OK but obviously comes with no guarantees. A spare comes with the car so if you like tinkering this’ll keep you busy for a while. I had it weighed at 580kg with half a tank. The handling is excellent, it sounds amazing and the acceleration is way beyond any other car I’ve ever been in.
This year I have replaced the rear wheel cylinders, fuel, fuel lines and antifreeze and it is now up and running.
I will include the hood which is not currently fitted.
The car is registered to me correctly as a kit.
I am looking for around £4750 for a quick sale.
It will be going on ebay soon if there is no interest.
