Hi, The Mk3 was intended to be a budget version of the Mk2. The Mk 3 was produced between 1988 - 1990 with around sixty being built. The majority of these kits ended up being track cars.

The main difference between the Mk2 and Mk3 is that the Mk3 has outboard front suspension (vauxhall uprights)

My brother and I compete in a 1988 Mk3,(Toyota 1.6, 175BHP) and the handling is fantastic. The outboard front suspension does need modifying to enable it to be fully adjustable. A company called 'Procomp' can do this and also provide a 'set up' day for you. They will set the car up and provide you with all the information and skills to carry on further set up developments.

My brother and I had a very sucessful season last year winning the Midland Speed Championship, Chester and Liverpool Speed Championship, HSA 1st and 2nd in class, ANWCC Hillclimb 1st and 2nd in class and ANWCC Sprints 1st in class and 2nd overall. We set class records at Anglesey(both layouts), Silverstone(Stowe circuit), Pembrey and Three Sisters(Three layouts).

The Mk3 on 'Pistonheads' should be very competitive in its current spec, especially if has been set up correctly!

Regards,

David.

Zekill

As the owner of a later model (Raw) Striker who has competed regularly against Jim and Dave Spencer, I can happily confirm independently that their Mk 3 handles very well, and is very fast indeed.

Hi Zekill,

If you email me at david.spencer46@yahoo.co.uk I will send you a file of pictures for the car dating from 2008 to present. You can then get an idea on how we have developed the car.

Regards,

David.

this car comes up for sale from time to time since around a year...so it seams a bit overpriced...also i would share that opinion.

as you are in france and will never get the car registered anyway..i would search a bike-engined fury or phoenix...should be cheaper and the chassis around 15years newer.

this fisher would be one, even its similar priced, but "only" 3000miles, used from summer 2006 onwards.
