Dear all
I am new to the JPSC forum, but please excuse the intro..
Some of you may be following the thread on locostbuilders regading headlamp covers for the classic Fury bonnet.
They are in clear plastic & carbon fibre for racing will soon be available.
http://www.locostbuilders.co.uk/forum/4 ... tid=122741
Moulds have been made and the guy making them is ready to negotiate a
discounted bulk-buy price once a list of confirmed orders have been
compiled.
Having been involved in getting this project off the ground, I can
vouch that these will be good quality items. No final pics yet.. but
the pic (see images in my locostbuilders profile) of the mould in progress may give you an idea !
Comments welcome regarding the headlamp bezel issue.
Best register your order / questions direct on the thread (or with the
guy Andy who is having them moulded) although I am happy to help if
anyone cant get onto the locost forum directly.
( Note - I am not connected with this commercially in any way, other than helping spread the word that these things may be soon available - and I donated an old damaged bonnet to help make moulds from.)
Will be posting on here regularly as my own Fury build progesses, but I hope me passing on this info is of interest.
cheers all
Richard

Yes - the project has been rumbling on for a fair old while now. Was kicked off on the sylva chat list I think, but so far back I cant remember now !
I got involved as the call went out for anyone with an old bonnet to donate it to help make moulds.
When I dropped the bonnet off with Andy (he is in Lambourne, Berks) he showed me the other stuff he has made, which included carbon covers for the stylus, plus mg, triumph and morgan bits and pieces.
Andy makes this stuff in his spare time (day job is fixing the red bull aerobatic stunt planes no less..) but from what I saw the mouldings are very good.
The locostbuilders thread is really just sussing what the best approach regarding retro-fitments (i.e the lamp bezel) - hence all feedback welcomed to get a final design thought out and of course to get an idea of numbers.
very interesting stuff and I think the end result will look superb.

I think this must be the very same guy who made ' carbon ' covers for my Stylus from a pattern cover supplied by Alec Martin/Stylus RT , RAF jet propulsion engineer. He'll supply clear or carbon lookalike and a very tidy job too
Poly covers were £50 a pair

Hi Rob
Yes I assume Andy also made your Stylus covers - he mentioned he had made a batch a while ago. They look very smart!
Latest pics sent from Andy are in my locostbuilders profile / pic archive. Tommorow will have a crack at loading them up on here.

Hi folks - Quick update. Andy has got some pre-production ones made - now fitted to a racing Fury.
Full info on locostbuilders (look under the 'bodywork' forum), but result has been well worth it.
