Re: Race Retro Show - Stoneleigh - Feb 2011
We went to RaceRetro yesterday , a brilliant show as always . Interviews in the afternoon with Wizzo Williams and other Historic drivers of their day. The Chester Sportscars stand looked very in keeping with the Retro show with their J15 in JPS colours . The headlights simply dissappeared under the poly covers contrasting with JP's red car using black rims against it's red bodywork . A small feature but the devil's in the detail. The JPS also had period mirrors. Raw's stand had their Supercharged Phoenix in Red with carbon cockpit ---- looked beautiful , and I told him I reckoned hecould well exceed Fulcrum sales with it . Under bonnet was just as the outside finish -- very pretty car . I was a touch nervous from a track point of view over the bonnet hinging at the screen . He was confident it wouldn't lift even if the pins broke or fell out .

No room for the inlet on those J15s....how would you fit trumpets and a filter ?

They'd used bike throttle bodies with quite long inlet . Deecee on this forum has managed to squeeze a 2 lt Duratec into his J15 but I seem to remember he'd used roller barrell straight to head THEN he can easy fit large pipes/filters to each side vent . Chester's had a 1600 Sigma . Maybe he'll reply to this thread with an answer

I like the black & gold, just not sure on the fag advertising. It would look great with a gold pinstrip rather than the JPS logos. Also another single roll hoop, what happens to the passenger ?

H'mm , but it was only a demo car , not set in stone so to speak . For me , the main reason for prefering it to JP's was that the headlight rims matched the body colour , so didn't attract attention whereas on JP's car the rims became the focus of attention---- just style detail , I know
