I hope it holds until the 21st!

Opps me too, damd dislexic fingers.........................LOL
Think this will be my last run out this year as ive just confirmed my Pinto is in need of sevear life support........
She started to loose oil from the er crank seal and oil foul no 2 spark plug after a "mad dash" at weekend and ive just found out ive now got a sevear lack of compression, should have at least 165 psi and she hovering beween 75 and 100..... So i guess a winter rebuild is in order.

How does 9am sound. It'd be a rush for me to make any earlier.
Alternativly we could meet somewhere else and head down to Whitchurch; Middlewich or Nantwich? Either way I've got to get a fry-up in at the "Raven".

Hi Adrian
Nantwich is good for me, how about Sainsbury's car park, at a time to suit you as its only a few miles from me........

OK, hows 8.45? Is Sainsburys the one by the mini roundabouts just before the level crossing?

oh dear, lets just hope it's a valve guide and not a ring. Does a aquirt of oil in #2 pot lift the compression or does it stay the same?
I had a similar problem with my Pinto, but a new set of stainless valves and some nice bronze guides sorted it. The guy did the whole lot for about £120.

Realised last night that I'm looking after the kids all day on the 19th, so if I go (and I'm hoping I will!) it'll be on the Sunday, probably leave 9ish. If Tim (or anyone else passing up though the Warwick area) wants to convoy, let me know...

Hi Timbo
Im hoping is valves / guides but i think its rings. Im going to borrow my mates compression gauge for a final diagnosis as i know his is acurate.
Mine a cheapo e-bay item so i dont trust the pressures its giving me.

By "Realised", do you mean Liz tactfully reminded you? I think i'll decide which day I go a bit nearer the date, (depends on weather) but the Sunday is ok at the moment

A shot of oil in the plug hole before you screw the compression guage in should confirm if it's head off or engine out, the compression will improve if it's a ring problem.
