We have a few trackday "virgins" at the trackday at Llandow on 5th Sept.
It would be worth posting below a list of the things to bring, I'll start with the obvious (?) one - you need a helmet. In my experience, they don't check the helmet certification.

Don't forget your driving license, like my mate did

Spare fuel.

My crossflow Striker does 9 mpg on average on a trackday. The dinky little fuel tank does not last long under these conditions.

I always trailer my car to an event .... in the boot of my tow car are the following.

Jack & Axle stands
Comprehensive Tool kit (Spanners/ sockets / screw drivers, hex keys, file, hacksaw)
Spare Belts (Supercharger and alternator)
Selection of electrical connectors (crimps etc), wire Multimeter.
Pump and tyre pressure gauge.
Oil (engine), brake fluid, WD40.
Petrol
Duck Tape
Hammer

(last two are essential you can fix almost anything with Duck tape and a hammer.

I have been know to take Drill/Exhaust Wadding

Oh ... and camping chair(s) .... picnic ... LOL

So far i've had plenty of "problems" but the one one i couldn't resolve was a blown engine. Needless to say most events I use very few items that I take ... but I do seem to end up lending plenty of tools out ....

PS - Yes i was a scout

Helmet.
Long sleeved top.
Driving licence.
Spare fuel, funnel/pump/syphon, oil and other fluids.
Tools (there's no such thing as a comprehensive list).
Jack, axle stands.
Tyre pump, pressure guage, IR temp guage (if you want to check the set-up)
Gaffer tape, zip ties, condom (if you can't fix it with the other stuff then F*** it).
Rags, hand cleaner.
Spare wheels (if you've got).
Car cover (to keep the torential rain out), waterproofs, sun-cream.
Food, water, coffee.
Camera, video.

Seriously, if anyone is driving their car to the track, then just bring the absolute minimum you need that is specific to your car. You can borrow everything obvious (jack, hammer, wheel brace, etc, etc).

There's no point dragging bulky, heavy stuff down that you will be able to borrow if you need it. I know it's great to be self sufficient, but seriously, if you're heading down in a JPSC designed car, you won't have room for everything!

I'll be bringing most stuff with me, happy for anyone to borrow anything in case of emergency.

After the last post offering to loan anything to anyone, here comes the reason!

Would I be able to borrow a helmet from someone for a few laps? My girlfriend is coming along and is quite happy to sit and watch. I think she needs to experience some track action!

If I could borrow a helmet for 15 minutes or so I'd be grateful. Not sure she will be though...

She can borrow mine - it's not too sweaty !
It may be a little big though.
