Ever since I had the Toyo 888 fitted I have a slight high speed wobble (starts at about 60-65mph and goes at about 90mph). I have booked up for a trackday in a few weeks time and want to get them sorted before then.

Any suggestions for a good place to have them checked near Tunbridge Wells? I know most tyre shops will 'have a go' but I would prefer to use someone that takes pride in the work they do They will also be restricted in the location of any balance weights due to my rather tight fitting brakes

Surely they got balanced when fitted . Are you feeling it through the steering wheel What pressures do you run

The wheels went to the 'little garage next door' who put the tyres on for me....the wheel balancer they use is now quite dated, fine for normal road cars but ask them to put the weights inside or outside and the machine struggles They tried there best but the machine kept telling them to put the weights right where my calipers run!

The place I used to use (when I got some A032R at the end of the last century ) have gone bust but the kit they had was really good.

100% certain it is wheel balance that needs sorting

Talking of pressure though, I am currently on 16-18psi for road use. What should I set the 888's too on a 530Kg Striker for a track day (most of the time it will also be 2 up so add 130Kg to that)?

Tyre pressure is in the right territory.

On that weight car plus driver only , purely for track , you can run 15psi on the R888's but when you come in they'll be up by 2 to 3 psi --- so just before going out again re-check and set to 15psi. NOT for road though

As this is my first track day in 10 years, really just dipping my toe back in the water, and for the most part I will have a passenger I will start with them at 18spi cold. I have suitable equipment to measure the tyre temps so will check it is sensible after each run and then adjust accordingly

18 is too high. Start with 15 rear and 17 front.
