If I didn't have bad luck....

My first run out in the car since getting it back.....and this happens

Image

Touched a kerb on the exit of a roundabout....took it easy for 1/2 or so and the car felt fine. 4 miles further up the road and this is the result.

That's unfortunately one of the problems with 1B's ------ they wont take a little mistake like a ' road ' tyre probably would , those walls can't take it Jeff . Can you quickly get another tyre for next weekend :?:

JUST noticed your numbers are still on the car -------------- Don't need an MSA contact to register that fact nor the police

The numbers don't bear any relationship to a MSA event so they can whistle on that on. I don't think it is illegal to run numbers (otherwise how would all the Herbie replicas cope?)

I have a 'tyre mountain' as my wife will tell you. This particular set are my old 048s and I still have the ZZRs on rims and several sets of Medium ZZRs in the garage which need mounting as well as an unmounted set of CR500s. Need to get some mounted..

WOW Jeff  how did that happen then? not just a puncture. Good job it was not a ZZR, nice to see there's some CR500 in the tyre bank ;)

Lets hope that's it for issues. How did the car run before the tyre going.

Touched a kerb and thought I had got away with it. The car was pulling slight to the left under power (which would have been the hole in the sidewall!). The car handled very well on a flat tyre!

I have 3 sets of CXRs, One with the A24s on, one with the damaged A048 and one set with no tyres on it. So I will end up with A24 ZZR, Medium ZZR and 2nd hand CR500. I have 4 pairs of Medium ZZRs rears and 1 pair of fronts all used once for practise on a Caterham race car so ideal for trackdays..
