J15 Rear Wheel Bearings

Has anyone had problems tightening the above using Sylva's fabricated uprights? I was explaining to JP that I could not get mine tight and he said that another builder had the same problem and had used ST150 hubs, as have I. The ST150 bearings are the same dimensions as the usual Fiesta and I have checked in case there was not enough thread and also that the hub "spiggot" is shorter that the bearing width.
Any pearls of wisdom will be gratefully received.
