Just got the Leader weighed on the weighbridge at work (it's used to weigh milk and is responsible for basically calculating how much to pay etc - so it's pretty accurate).
Anyway, it weighed 620kg, which is lighter than i was expecting. I'm almost certain it was the weight without me in it (as it's a bit light if I was sitting in it too). Will pop it back and ask/do it again.
But yeah, Lighter than I thought and not too shabby at all.
Should be doing a trackday at Woodbridge within a month or two in it. Anyone from here planning on going?

Re: Sylva Leader Weight
And a lot of that weight is in the front and rear body sections.
Very very heavy compared to the bodywork on something like a Locost or an MK.
Fairly obvious observation, I know.
When I stripped mine down, I wouldn't be surprised if the grp weighed more than the chassis.

Yeah it was quite surprising - I'm gonna pop over to the weighbridge again today and see if I can't work out the weigh distribution of it too (So will post that up on here too
Yeah I think I take for granted how substantial the shell is. I dropped an axle stand from the roof of our garage onto the bonnet and it barely left a scratch.
Are you keeping the Leader now then Zilspeed? I remember reading that you was looking to sell it? Would be good to see some more pics of it

Re: Sylva Leader Weight
Just a lil update:
Found the following sites explaining how to roughly calculate weight distribution (seems reasonably sound logic to me). Anyway, these were my results (It hada full tank so was slightly heavier this time).

Weighed with a full tank of petrol:
Car Only: 630kg
Car + Me: 710kg (I weigh almost dead on 80kg, so this seems correct).
Car weight of just front axle:
Me In: 360kg
Me out 1st: 340kg
Me out 2nd: 330kg (I just used 335kg for the sums as it was somewhere in between).
Weight Distribution with me in: 51/49 (360/710 = 0.507042253521)
Weight Distribution without me: 53/47 (335/630 = 0.531746031746)
Quite interesting
Almost a perfect 50/50 weight distribution with a driver. Good ol' Jeremy Phillips!
