Fury full screen or aero screen

Hi all with the official go ahead to repair and not write the fisher fury off it is at a state where I need to decide if i want to go for a new tub with full screen or to go aero screen. What I'm asking is for your views and experiences.

I can save quite a bit of weight losing the glass wipers heater matrix and fan but the safety concerns on a aero screen is my only worry.

I think the answer here is up to you. Try to get a ride in the one you have no experience of, I assume a aeroscreen car? I have a Phoenix which as you know never came with a screen option. At the start of my respray, I temporarily bonded on a Fury windscreen and surround, and took it for an extended 40 minute drive with a mate who drives my car a lot too. We were amazed and revelled in the ability to be able to hold a converasation at speed (despite being bike-engined), and not having to wear crash helmets. And we then taked about the future ability to add a full canvas roof and be able to read maps etc. in relative wind-free comfort. A big improvement over an aeroscreen. Then we in balance discussed the negatives which seemed to be only a weight penalty, looks and losing the sheer exciement of an aeroscreened' car.

Thats why my Phoenix still has an aeroscreen....

Mazie, I bought a fury without a screen and it feels very vulnerable being that low and with nothing to hide behind, think chippings, wildlife, wind and rain. I have to wear shades for cruising and a helmet for thrashing. I have got used to it but I would have the full windscreen if I had the choice, also if its a bit cold the wind chill over about 20 mph is pretty severe. Funnily enough on a trackday I didn't think about it at all, so it depends on your adrenaline levels and how hardcore you are; these are toys after all !
Lee, where did you get a screen surround from ? The perfect solution would be a removable curved screen and molding, nothing too complicated and quick to remove for track work.

It was from Dean Rokers old damaged bodywork, but the screen had seen better days. I will try to upload some images of it on the car, but the photo need to me resized first as too big

Captain Sensible would opine: road use, full screen; track, aeroscreen. Think about it

i´m driving one since years with an aero screen. 99% road use.

besides the necessity wearing a (half shell)-helmet i enjoy it every second.

recently i came across a car with a "normal" windscreen:

1. it "looks" boring
2. without sidescreens there are more turbulances than without a screen
3. with sidescreens its even a bit of a yawn

so guess which car i prefer more?

Thanks for all your feedback guys, I've decided the sensible route of a full screen purely for the safety aspects of not having a stone travel through my head at 80mph. I dont want to wear a helmet unless for trackdays and most of the time its driven on the road including motorway journeys .
Steve at fishersports is about to start the repairs soon so it will be back on the road in a month, it's been a good opportunity to decide on a new colour scheme too! All I need now is a set of 285 cams for a silvertop if anyone's go any to sell!
