Hello guys,

been a while since i introduced myself on here, but i'm slowly getting to rolling chassis stage. i'm currently gathering info on suspension setup. I'm looking to buy my shock absorbers and "Steve" has suggested pro tech provide a good service. i've been quoted by pro tech for some 12.5" fully extended shocks with some 150lb rear and 190lb front springs.

Wondered what other people are running. I'm putting together a car engined road going car with irs. i'm a bit concerned about bump steer particularly as the state of the roads doesn't look set for any major improvements.

any comments gratefully received.

I went for ProTechs upon many people's recommendations. I was to buy them again, I think I'd get them from Procomp who re-valve them specifically for lightweight cars and sell them in balanced pairs. I think Procomp were actually a little cheaper than the price I paid direct from Protech too.

I think eventually that you'll find those spring rates too soft especially if you fancy the odd trackday. With a car engine I'd use a minimum of 225lb front and perhaps put those 190lb springs on the rear . Higher spring rates won't give any harder ride , provided you set the shocks to allow piston travel up front of 15mm min and 50mm rear min travel . If it seems to be very hard then the shocks are probably bottoming out , so becoming a solid piece not a compressing piece.
