Pete's answer sounds flippant, but my (Phoenix) chassis had no plate/stamping and I just marked it somewhere.
I suspect this is standard practice.

On my Star it's on the top chassis member in the engine bay. When you look at the car from the front it's the chassis member on the left hand side (offside of the car). The vin plate has been placed on the side of this chassis member facing the engine. I would post a picture but it's raining here! Let me know if you would like one as my description of it's location is not that great!

Mine is very similar, same side same chassis rail just that it's been stamped onto a plate a fixed on top of the rail.
