Live Axle pictures

Has anyone got pictures of the axle (specifically the trailing arms and attachments to the axle) on a Phoenix/Striker/Fury/Stylus. Just want to make sure mine are correct as the arms angle outwards towards the axle mounting. Trying to fit 205/60 13 tyres and they just touch the trailing arm.

We've used Eibach hub-centric wheel spacers for three or four years now -- absolutely no issues.

What size wheels/tyres are you running David? I've ordered some 6mm spacers which will fix this symptom but the better solution I think is to straighten the path of the trailing arms.

I think it'sz normal on the striker, phoenix and fury as they all have a chassis that tapers towards the front, so the trailing arms runparallel to the chassis. The stylus is completely different as it has a serious altered chassis compared to the others and therefore they run straight.

But i can also be completely wrong though

I've been running 215/60-13 -- but I used spacers to fill the arches rather than to enhance clearance (mine's an IRS Striker).

Will take some pics later (need to get the car out of the garage anyway).
I have 185/60 R13 tyres, and I needed spacers to move the wheels out for high speed corners, as the tyres just rubbed the arms.

Thanks for that. The nut on the inside of the bolt holding the rear of the trailing arm on mine actually touches the drum brake plate. I guess you need to run spacers due to wheel offset ( you must have ET35 or something)? I can run 185/60 with ET23 and have no problem with hitting the arms. My arms do seem to splay out while yours seem to be parallel.

Bog standard Ford RS Alloys on my car, which I think are 19mm offset. I have 4mm spacers I think.

I swapped the english for an atlas on my stylus and copied the original bracket design from the english on to the atlas and the brackets were slightly angled in towards the centre of the car as they go forward.
