We can do without con artists using the marque.

It would be interesting to know if anyone has any history on this car - previous owners etc.

Re: Issue with Striker on EBay ?
The ebay sellers Id would sort of hint at his name and I would suspect age, JustinJbrooks1984. The auction looked genuine enough, though I personally don't like private bidder auctions, that really is Ebay helping out the less honourable out there. The car looks to have sold for £2350, will have to see if the feedback indicates that it didn't go smoothly.

Re: Issue with Striker on EBay ?
Just got the link to the original add and seemd to recognise something about the car immediately
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/sylva-striker-kit-car-/130423924029?pt=Automobiles_UK#ht_1123wt_1138
In amongst all the paperwork that came with mine there were some pages torn from 2 old issues of "Kit Car" magazine which covered the building of a Sierra based Strika.
A photo of a completed car is used as a header to the article and carries the reg. no. Q832 RGC.
Its the same colour, has the same wheels but looks to be running a pinto as the twin carb trumpets protrude through the bonnet on the passenger side - you can see the cut outs in one of the pics in the add.
Unfortunately there's nothing to date the article

Re: Issue with Striker on EBay ?
Good spot on the background image. When I saw the add on Ebay something looked familiar, but the ugly hacked out bonnet didn't look right and had no reason to dig through the archives.
The picture actually came from an earlier "Kit car" / Ian Haynes comparative article entitled "Precious metal" featuring this Sylva Mk2 then with a fiat 1800 TC (with Lancia cam covers)and twin 45's vs Mark Arderns clubman Mk4 racer. The article must be 1998/9 as I recall reading it over and over while my car took shape in the garage. The car was the Sylva company demonstrator just prior to SVA, and the wheels are 14 inch TSW Hockenheim alloys. Paul.
