Re: Hi From Ruislip
Not sure how rear stays on the roll bar would work with the rear clamshell...? This is my one problem with the Spectre, as I'd want rear stays...
But the car looks great Rich, look forward to seeing progress!

I've read that they detach from the roll hoop when you want to open the clamshell and then move to a vertical position as you lift the shell up.

Yep that's pretty much it. Jon Regan has got that with Full Bodied Riot 2. He has a conventional roll hoop with detachable rear stays.

Re: Hi From Ruislip
Hi Guys,
well been quite busy since Friday when we picked the powdercoated panels up!
Finishing off the plumbing through the tunnel and have started to panel the chassis. Black rivets and polyurethane sealer.
Most of the panels are only fitted with Cleco fasteners at the moment.
Some more piccies. The young fella is my 15 year old Rhys. An absolute Petrolhead - not sure where he gets it from He's really useful but getting bit big now to squeeze into small gaps - every toolbox should have a Rhys though.
Cheers

Rich,
If you want to start a Spectre build thread in the "Jeremy Philips Cars" forum, then I will make it a "sticky".
I think a lot of people will be interested. We can move it to a Build sub-forum if we get a lot of build threads.

Re: Richard's J15 build diary
Thanks Pete,
OK Sunday night update.
Late start today as the job had me up at 3-30 this morning!!
Today we've finished the tunnel plumbing and it's been quite a squeeze. Have got the water pipes, brake and clutch pipes, fuel flow and return as well as the cables and mechanism for the gearchange all running down the centre.
Also got the panelling on including the floor (Over 200 rivets in the floor alone!) Have used large flange black rivets for the floor and normal black rivets for the rest. Leaving the rear panels loose until the engine and injection is in and the car is running.
Also dry built up the front suspension.
Next job is to sort the hubs - have got some sexy ali ones for the front - then sort the wheels and tyres as well as some brakes.
Rear uprights are built up and have had the new bearings fitted. Opted for Jeremy's own fabricated rear uprights and they really are superb.
The whole car really is going together fantastically and is a real testament to Jeremy's skill as a designer and fabricator.
To those cosidering a Full Bodied Riot build - cost to this spec so far - approx £7K
Anyway enough chat here's the pics.
Tomorrows job - clear up the workshop and pick up all the rivet shanks!!
Hope you've enjoyed the update?
Cheers
