Spark plugs

Postby cheslop » Sat Jul 31, 2010 1:28 pm

Hi, has anybody any advice or experience of using Platinum spark plugs in a Ford X Flow engine. At present I am using BPR7ES plugs in a 1700 engine with a BCF2 cam, I was thinking of using some BP7EVX plugs.

I thought they may might give slighly better fuel consumption and better low speed running, the BPR7ES plugs are fine for top end running (light brown tips etc) but under less exciting conditions don't seem to burn as clean. I am trying to bring the old x flow up to date ! If anybody has hints on running these old engines including choice of mineral or synthetic oil (at present using 20/50 mineral oil) I would be grateful.
Chris
