Kit Car mag roadtests Striker - 1988

Postby PaulW7 » Wed Jul 21, 2010 8:32 pm

Came across a bit of Sylva history the other day, in a Kit car magazine from May 1988, featuring Ian Hynes road test of a very early Striker. This was back when the company was in Lymington, and our resident forum expert Paul Kuzan was in charge of demonstrating the car and New forest roads to Ian.

The featured car was a 1300 xflow with clam shell wings and Viva uprights and the Escort lower radius arms and anti roll bar, finished in British racing green. Reg is Q308GEL, can't help but wonder if it's still out there .. I've never seen clam shell wings on a Striker.

There is also a photo of the early clubman, discussed on here a few weeks ago.

Needless to say the car made a very good impression from the start. Oh the price £495-1000.

Do we have an archive on the Members web site James/Peter.
Regards
Paul.

Hi, I was looking at some old pictures I have taken of kit cars over the years and found this pic of an early Striker (taken about 20 years ago) I have one or two more images if anybody is interested.

Could almost be the same car, just a few numbers different on the "Q" plate ,compared to the magazine test car at the time.
