Two versions:

As supplied by Raw -- heavy and a bit of a parachute, but quite smart.......

Replaced by (also built by Raw, but easy to do yourself) flat aluminium sheet with gap to allow air trapped inside engine bay floor to exit....

We now run a flat floor pretty much throughout (small hole at botton of bell housing), which means that the air entering through the nosecone has limited chance to escape. We have engine bay side vents and holes at the extreme rear of the bonnet, but plenty of exit possibility at the tail seemed sensible. If you look at most of the Strikers involved in 750MC racing you will see similar.
Our times have certainly not suffered as a consequence of the change, but I agree that the GRP item looks the part. Pity this thread didn't come up a few days earlier; I binned the GRP unit last week

So does the horizontal bit of the diffuser we can see on the second one form part of the complete "flat floor" ?

And any chance of some pics of the whole underside :D

Yes. There is an engine bay floor which stretches from nosecone to bulkhead, a tunnel floor, and the flat "diffuser" to the tail.

Mercifully, I've managed to keep it shiny-side-up so far this season, so not easy -- but, if I remember (hopefully) when it's on jacks, I'll post :D
