Type 9 gearbox mounts

Postby petercoll » Sat Oct 10, 2009 5:28 pm

Anyone got some pics of a standard type 9 gearbox mount ?

With the engine out of my Striker, I thought I might aswell replace the engine and gearbox mounts, but I am unclear as to precisely what I currently have in place.

Thanks,

Pete

There are two different types of Ford gearbox mount (that I know of) which can be used with the type 9. Theres the Mk2 Escort/Cortina type which Caterham and Westfield use, which is phyically smaller but according to the guys on Locostbuilders is stiffer, which looks like
this;

Theres also the type used on the Mk4 Cortina and Sierra, (this was the type that was supplied with my Fury Kit) and this looks something like this;

Cheers Matt,

I managed to get the old one off the car this morning, and it looks like I have the Cortina/Sierra one.
Just bought a QH one on Ebay for a tenner, which is less than I was expecting. The one I have just taken off is a Ford original part, so it was probably due for replacement anyway.
