Hi All,
As i'm taking the leap into the 21st century and converting to fuel injection over the winter, i need to hook my megasquirt up to a wideband lambda senor. What does everyone else use? do i need a controller with it?

You only need a wideband if your mapping it yourself. If you get the car mapped on a Rolling Road (or get a map from somewhere else) you can then run the car without a WB Lamda. Innovate LC-1 is popular (as are JAW) and you will need a controller for the Lamda probe which is what the LC-1 is effectively.

The 2 popular choices are:
Innovate LC-1 (Bill Shurvinton used to be the cheapest source @ £140ish including exhaust boss & bung- see 7s list)
or Techedge 2J1 (£140 from http://trigger-wheels.com, exhaust boss & bung +£7.50)
Both of those kits include the sensor & controller, both of which are needed to hook up to the MS.

Re: megasquirt lambda sensor
Thanks Chaps,
I've had some communication with Phillip Ringwood of Extra efi, he no longer sells LC1's as he says there are some reliability issues. He did reccomend the techedge unit though, so I will probably be going this route. I'm well on the way with the bits now, got my throttle bodies, fuel pump and filter, bare ally for the manifold, and have my eye on a pressure regulator on fleabay. SWMBO has agreed to an early Xmas pressy, nice lathe for the workshop, so the WLS is all i'm missing.

OK...can't help with the map then
Unless you already have it, I wouldn't bother with the MS2 and save yourself a few pennies and get the MS1 instead.

Yep, a map would have been nice. My MS2 has been on the car for a year now, i've just been using the ignition side, as i always planned to go the "EFI"route!

You could be my new best friend...
If you need a hand at any point, with the install or the mapping, I'm sure I can get a pass to pop over in the eves...
