Tow points on a Striker

I'm looking for some inspiration. I want to fit tow points to my IRS Striker as I start sprinting this year. I've lots of ideas but they tend to involve lots of heavy iron work. Anyone got any pictures of some neat solutions, particularly for the rear end?

I'm interested in this also Peter, I had been thinking about it a while then had a break down at Blyton last year and got towed back via the roll bar which wasn't the best experience.

When I went to pick up Tango (jester) in a rented recovery van with a motor powered winch I had to rap it round the roll bar to get it on the truck as the brakes had sized on solid & the wheel bearing where all shot so the wheels just moved were they wanted.
luckly I had some one else with me to bounce it about on the back to straghten it up before we tied it down for the journey home.
So I am also looking for Idea's to make a cleaner job of moving on & off a recovery truck if needed in the future

Share a photo of the underside of the back of your car Peter for some mutual inspiration?

There doesn't tend to be much that's very solid towards the very back or the very front to bolt something small to. If I remember right there will be a bar across the back of the fuel tank; perhaps a slot or hole in the body then have a flat tow strap coming out through it? Not the nicest on a road car but perhaps fine on a sprinter! The hole would need to be big enough for some articulation of course. At the front is there a frame at the bottom of the radiator which might be strong enough? Fine for a forwards pull perhaps but might not take much sideways load.

I will try and get some pictures at the weekend. Ideas keep going around in my head but none are 'perfect' and all have issues..like if they tow from the wrong angle they could rip the nose cone off!

I do think the back is easier than the front but then for towing from the back they can use the roll bar if they really have to. Its the front that really has me stumped.

This gave me some ideas but still has issues https://forum.wscc.co.uk/forum/topic/90702-towing-eye/ but the tow point will need to stick out more so it can be seen and it will be very low on my car to fit beneath the number plate.

Here are some pics of the rear of mine, difficult to put anything inside the roll hoop area because of the tank but maybe on the outside of the rear facing beam.

Ignore the other roll hoop it's an MSA spec fury one I bought thinking it would be ok for a striker but obviously not.
It's still hanging up in may garage if any ones interested in it.

My rear end is IRS so we will end up with different solutions.

Found that Porsche 911 race tow eyes are long and could possibly work but at Porsche prices!

None of these would come forwards enough from the front chassis to clear the nose cone. If they don't stick out the front then any tow from a side angle will damage the nose cone. They need to be at least 300mm long to even stand a chance, 350mm would be better. I am thinking of getting my own laser/water cut but seems a faff when I have other things to sort out by March 8th (like fitting a drivers seat back in!).

I'm going to mock up a 3 part front eye that will be bolt on and adjustable for length. It will also be easy to remove the front part for road use. Once I have the drawings I will pop them up here for feedback :-)
