Chris is around 17kg heavier than I am. Over the season, we have been about evenly matched on lap times. He beat me by a few tenths at Croft and murdered me at Hethel (he's just braver ), I beat him by a few tenths at Curborough and Llandow, and we shared the honours (one all) at MIRA. However, whilst he may be braver (or more skillful), the data-logging is unequivocal: I get out of the corners faster.

I guess as in all things in life there must be an optimum size and bigger isn't always best

Just weighed mine and the 5,5x13 minilites with yoko's A048 185/60-13 weigh in at 13kg
The compomotive 6x13 with the same tires 13,5kg

For reference just weighed one of my OZ Ultraleggera 15 x 7 with 195/50 15 Toyo R888 = 14.25 kg

Have decided to go on a diet over the next few months. David, are your wheels 13" TD 1.2 as I cant find that size listed on their site ? Does anyone know if the Caterham superlight wheels will fit on as I think they are 6 X 13 front and 8 X 13 rears ?

Yes and no. Detachable arches come from Raw in (I think) three widths. Mine are certainly wider than the standard non-detachable items.
I use ET20.

21" front and 22" rear -- Avon X-ply nomenclature is different from most people's radial designation.
