That's good news of sorts. Would be difficult to justify it not being there fault but good that it's confirmed.
Have you unloaded and had a proper look yet. Can't see it damaging the transmission. Wishbones and .mounts might have taken some damage but that could be good if they've gone and let the chassis move... Sorry, just trying to be optimistic. Got fingers crossed.

The problem is I don't 'know' if the box is OK or not. I get one shot at sorting this out with the insurance company and estimating the damage will be very difficult until the tub is off / replaced and then the car is aligned / run at full speed. I'd hate to find that it has damaged the box/diff/prop/clutch/engine at the first event

Sadly thats what I feared after your post this morning.

As this is being treated as goods in transit and not a vehicle and that it is uneconomic to repair (bodywork alone would likely be 8-10K) as the chassis is appears bent. My assessor has estimated the value at £45K and the trailer at £7K. The RR needs to go to Land Rover dealer and get a new factory fit towbar fitted and until that I can't tow. We will see what the insurance company make of that.

If it comes off I can see me buying a Norma M20F and supercharging it...

Looks like quite a car.
One question though, would it be suitable for the sprint series here?

I remember you saying the conditions at north weald were bumpy and you had trouble putting the power down. What with it being a aero car it would have to be stiff as, to keep the aero at the correct angle. This stiffness would shake your fillings out. Also, would you ever be really be going fast enough to get any real aero benefit? From what I've seen we dont have the long sweeping hill climbs like they do in Europe.

North Weald would not be ideal for an Aero car but it is an exception rather than the rule. Cadwell, Anglesey, Combe, Goodwood, Snetterton 300 Silverstone etc etc are all pretty smooth and ideally suited to a fast prototype car.
