Sorry Jeff, I've only just seen you're video. How bad is the damage?

Some bodywork and expansion tank, assuming the engine isn't toast I'll be out this weekend.

Was the fire caused by it still blowing oil out? I guess there's a load of extinguisher powder to clean up. Did you pull the plumbed in one or use a handheld?

The oil line to the remote filter between the shocks detached from the fitting (likely pulled off by the ARB). Contents of engine sprayed everywhere until it ignited on the exhaust.

The on-board failed to go off because one of the 6mm lines was crimped.

Lots of lessons learnt.
New extinguisher going in the passenger footwell with P clipped 6mm lines. More attention being paid to the run of the remote pull cables.

The oil line was too short as installed and was pulled away from the fitting because there is more movement in the shock now. New oil line being made which will clear all moving parts and have jubilee clips to back up the barbed fittings.

The damage to the car is the bonnet side and side pod which is all currently covered in red duck tape, get it repaired in a couple of weeks. Lots of cleaning of oil has been done and now I need to replace the overflow tank, oil catch tank and clean all the metal parts again.

The only unknown currently is if the engine is knackered or not, I think it will be OK but we'll not know until the new oil line is on and then Hethel this weekend.

Did the presure go? Given how late it went and little load it was under in the short run in plus good oil (300v?) I doubt the engine has taken any harm.

Just drained the sump and it had about 1.5-2l of 300V in it. Fingers crossed on the motor....

Is that more movement because they actually move now
or
is that more movement because they have more travel than what you had before. I was always under the impression that the more ways you go on a shock the less over all stroke you get. But happy to be educated.

I would suggest it would be option A, plus larger slicks = equals more dip under increased braking (1.8G max seen on the data logger).

So shocks/larger slicks/rose jointed wishbones = more braking = more movement = oil line failure.

new exhaust without Zircotec coating + oil line failure = fire
