Hi everyone.
My striker has been suffering a misfire not for quite a while so has been side lined while I moved house and built the new garage.
A local firm has been doing some work on it for me and thought they had solved the problem but it has returned. They believe it is down to the carbs.
Does anyone know of any carb wizards in the (roughly) Doncaster area?

Re: Dellortos
when does the misfire happen?
during start, during driving, full throttle, half throttle, when cold, when hot, what type of carbs excatly (numbers), was it ever ok? did it came suddenly or did you do something to your car before?

Re: Dellortos
yeah they were perfect then had a sudden misfire after a quick blast uphill.
It happens when it gets up to temp and you apply moderate throttle, gets much worse on full throttle.
It's just chucking fuel in to 3 & 4. The other half is fine.

Oh and it's not soooo bad when cold but terrible as it gets hot.
I have changed nothing and I believe they are 45's if that helps.
apparently the compression is spot on. The guys that have it currently are old school VW specialists (Mk2 1.8 GTI engine)

Re: Dellortos
Well I assume they were.
I had run it for a year or so before this happened. Got to confess to not being too mechanically minded. an expert required?

I would take them to Atspeed but they are in Essex, bit of a drive from Doncaster.
