Spent some paternity time wisely on toying with car :D

High Torque starter fitted and re-wired. Seems a fair improvement, but still hard work starting in the cold.

Wasn't sure about the CBS small interior mirror I inherited, both my particular fitting issues (central Acewell, no horizontal mounting space etc etc) and size of mirror.
Bought a land rover defender (clip in type) interior rear view mirror:-
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LAND-ROVER-DEFENDER-90-110-130-INTERIOR-REAR-VIEW-MIRROR-WITH-DIP-MTC6376-/260930382874?hash=item3cc0a9ac1a
popped off the plastic (E marked) mirror and set about heating and bending the chunky steel arm back on itself so I could reverse mount it bonded on my scuttle, with mirror to sit just inside fly screen. Will need to grind the lump off the attachment face to allow flush bonding:-

Welded on headrest plates, painted up, glued on headrests with gap under 5cm to top of seat.

A few more jobs done, just a handful more before submitting forms.
Finished the defender mirror project. The scuttle vibrates a bit but image is ok. Might try and plate up internally:-

Fitted some badges to hide old wing mirror holes:-
Image
Small powervamp battery was showing 11.6v on full recharge and couldn't turn engine over so swapped for regular battery:-
Image
Engraved vin into chassis and attached matching plate. Initially I used a reciprocating type dremel engraver which was noisy and useless, so instead used normal rotating type dremel with a fine tip which was excellent. Just need to cut a bit deeper and lacquer:-
