Considering doing a trackday

Hi,
So I've had the car for a few years now and still not done a trackday.
The only thing putting me off is the noise test.
Is there a way of getting tested without having to actually goto the track for a trackday. Im guessing the best place for me is Brands as im based in Brighton.
OR
should i do a car limits day first and then a track day. I only have 4 days holiday left so want to make the most out of them.

Hiya Dave, hoping mine will be done by then and hoping to do my first track day asap .In regards to sound test there used to be an app I think to measure the sound db which may come in handy beforehand .

Ah, yeah, well, im not too sure as the ECU was set to the wrong pulse for the tacho so i rev'd it till they said thats ok. I may have said its a standard engine and only revs to 6800

. (soft cuts at 7200 ).
I think i got 98 static. But I don't know what the rpm was as it was reading about 2500.
I'd say its all sorted now but when I plugged in the lappy the other day i noticed that the rev counter over read when compared to the ECU feed into the lappy. (Fricken kit cars)

I'd guess the revs at that test wouldn't be far off, as they tend to have a good ear for it doing so many. Can't see you having an issue at any 105db days anyway but any less you' might be close. You could always have a run out one day when there's a track day on and ask them to noise test it.
The sound meters and phone apps are ok but not certain to be acurate. If you do try that it's measured at 45deg' to the tailpipe and 1m distance.
