Has to be running lean, although the wrapping of exhausts moves the heat to the point that isn't wrapped.

Not sure, it's going to the carb specialists on Thursday. This should be the final thing to get her running again after the engine swap. Fingers crossed

If you're going to wrap an exhaust then it has to be the lot with no gaps , checking really carefully around any mounting points/hopefully rubber/not solid either OR the result can be horrendous as has been well documented in the old SYLVA register magazine from 20yrs ago

I plan to finish the final 1.5 foot of wrapping soon that's where it ends and joins the stainless. There are no mounting points apart from to the manifold itself.
Forgive me I have not heard much bad regards the heat wrap. Is it a bit of a no no

Others will go into details more, but wrapping the exhaust moves the heat and intensifies it where it can get out, if that is inside a fibreglassed tunnel then means the tunnel gets too hot and could (will?) self combust! IMHO it's not worth wrapping!

The exhaust leaves the car via stainless just after this point. I want to get a nice new manifold but have wrapped it for the time being. I bet now it's on it will be a nightmare to take off. Aggghhhhh what part will combust the pipe or fibreglass.

Fibreglass!
There are ways to avoid it if you insist on wrapping, but it's a PITA! Means wrapping VERY VERY carefully and making sure the tunnel is vented extremely well! I'm assuming the tunnel is enclosed?
