Done after I saw your post on LCB, Jeff.

It might gain more support though if it was aimed more generally. You shouldn't be able to complain about ANY pre-existing issue when you move to an area. Rather than just motorsport you'd get a lot of other activities involved. I know of a clay-pigeon shooting club, a remote control aircraft club, a dog agility club (all noise), a golf club who had complaints about flying balls and even a farmer who had complaints (they even did a petition) about his manure smelling.

My father was taken to court over complaints of speading manure and general farming ''animal sex'' being in the complainent's view/smell :o I was 14yrs at the time and found it totally hilarious that the defence barister questioned the '' lady '' regarding what she saw and then asked her after she'd described it vividly , '' how long did this go on for ? '' her answer --- '' oh , at least half an hour on many occasions '' Barister -- '' no further questions '' The court was in uproar with all but the judge laughing out loud . Dad won the case but they had no money and got away with paying his expenses (week in court) at 10 shillings/50p per week , needless to say he never had it all paid back
HOWEVER --- without them realising it (their large garden of an acre was for sale) he had a friend buy their garden on his behalf then one day once it was all sealed we walked across'' their '' garden with posts etc and proceeded to fence it off --- you can imagine their shock and my Dad's delight :P
