Sylva leader project

Postby Spybot84 » Fri Nov 28, 2014 1:33 pm

Hi everyone :D

I have recently purchased a Sylva leader and I am hoping some of you guys will be able to offer some info and help.

I purchased it a bit untidy and unloved and plan on making it nice and new but keeping some providence within her.

Originally
1.3 xflow
4mm thick brake disc and seized calipers
Rear exit exhaust held on by 1 bracket
Tatty hood ripped etc.

Now
1.7 xflow currently being fitted
Refurb end calippers and new caliber Pistons
New 10mm thick discs and green stuff pads
Cleaner hood no rips
Side exit exhaust

Problem is the brakes are still pretty poor. I am after some info on the pedal box etc. well any info will be useful really

Struggling to upload pics at mo it says invalid but will keep trying.

Thanks everyone in advance

master cylinder maybe at fault?

BTW the pedals in my Star are from a Ford  - don't know if that was a common setup for a Star?

just had a quick look in the Leader build manual I have and it states to use the Donor Viva/Magnum/Firenza pedals, servo and master cylinder.

Hi thanks for the reply.

Not sure what the pedal box looks like yet not managed to delve that far.

I have reconditioned the original master cylinder and that seems to be fine.

However I do not have a servo it is more of a Heath Robinson type of pulley system ?? Will try get some pics.
